PCLockdown Technology Distribution – PCLockdown’s technology platform and suite of products distribution agreement has been acquired by Abel Networks International Pty Ltd, an Australia based developer of network based software solutions.

Developed in Hobart, Tasmania PCLockdown is an e-security platform consisting of software and hardware devices that provide a method of physically locking out the use of networked computers via a remote encrypted broadcast. Managing Director of Abel Networks, Stephen Conrad said that “the PCLockdown technology is the only platform in the world that is addressing the very large gap in network security systems, and that is physical access to information via client workstations”. Stephen Conrad went on to say that “Most e-security technologies focus on firewalls and antivirus protection when in fact it has been reported that 80% of information theft from computer systems takes place through unauthorised access to computers from within the organization”.

PCLockdown integrates with fire and security alarm panels and when an alarm is triggered client workstations are locked down to prevent unauthorised access. The system can also be configured to lock out workstation access after hours or manually by a network administrator.
